Terms of Use

Somewhere Unfamiliar is a community that helps adults who have moved, or are preparing to move, discover and communicate with other members.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and meet the community’s relocation eligibility requirements. You agree to provide accurate account and profile information and to use your own profile photo.

What we verify

We may verify control of an email address and require selection of real places through a location provider. That does not mean we independently verify a member’s identity, background, residence, relocation history, profile statements, or conduct. A selected place confirms that the place exists; it is not proof that a member lives there.

Your interactions

Somewhere Unfamiliar facilitates introductions. We do not guarantee compatibility, identity, safety, conduct, or outcomes. Members are responsible for deciding whether, when, where, and how to communicate or meet, and should use reasonable judgment when meeting someone for the first time.

Community conduct

Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, scam, spam, solicit members without invitation, misuse personal information, or use the service for unlawful or abusive purposes. Our Community Guidelines are part of these Terms.

Safety and enforcement

You may block or report another member. Reports may concern conduct in the service or relevant conduct between members after meeting offline. We may investigate reports and restrict, suspend, or remove accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines. We may take reasonable steps to prevent a removed member from evading enforcement through another account.

Content and service

You remain responsible for content you submit. You give us the permissions reasonably necessary to host, display, process, and deliver that content as part of the service. Features may change as the community develops.

Accounts

Keep your credentials secure. You may delete your account through the product. We may retain limited information when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, dispute resolution, or enforcement.

Disclaimers

The service is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

Questions about these Terms can be sent through the contact information provided on Somewhere Unfamiliar.
