Community Guidelines

Somewhere Unfamiliar exists to make meeting people somewhere new feel more human. A few simple expectations keep it useful and safe.

Be real

Use your own identity and photo. Don’t impersonate someone else or create deceptive profiles.

Be respectful

No harassment, threats, hate, sexual harassment, repeated unwanted contact, bullying, or pressure after someone has set a boundary.

Don’t spam or sell to people

No scams, unsolicited promotions, MLMs, mass outreach, or joining primarily to solicit members for a business, service, investment, or other commercial purpose.

Respect privacy

Don’t publish another member’s private information or share private conversations without a legitimate reason. Avoid putting your home address, financial information, identification numbers, or other sensitive contact details in your public profile.

Meet thoughtfully

If you choose to meet, use your judgment. For a first meeting, consider a public place and let someone you trust know your plans.

Block or report when needed

You can block someone simply because you no longer want contact. Report scams, fake profiles, harassment, safety concerns, or relevant misconduct that happens after members meet offline. Reports are handled as privately as reasonably possible.
